The 1954 Red Man baseball card set was reduced by one player from the 1953 set. Three players from the 1954 Red Man set are known to exist with two different teams: George Kell, Sam Mele, and Dave Philley. Also card #19 from the National League exists as Enos Slaughter and Gus Bell. Like the 1953 series, the 1954 Red Man baseball card series also has the cards with a tab have a 2.5X value over the cards without tabs. The key players from the American League are: George Kell (Chicago) #4B, Sam Mele (Chicago) #6B, Dave Philley (Philadelphia) #9B, Whitney Ford #16, and Yogi Berra #20. The National League stars are: Roy Campanella #13, Duke Snider #16, Enos Slaughter 19A, Gus Bell #19B, and Willie Mays #25. | |||
